Negotiations regarding the clean-up of the two dumping sites immediately adjacent to property owned by the Mt. Paran Church are continuing.  A Fauquier County government working group charged with responsibility for monitoring environmental problems throughout the county is aware of these sites and, according to the County Attorney's office, will discuss specific plans to clean up these sites at upcoming meetings in August and September.  At issue is gaining access to the sites without damaging church property.  Several options are under review and RMA has tentatively agreed to work with the county and the church to repair any damages to church property that might result from the clean up effort. Timing is also an issue.  Currently, the dumping sites are partially covered by heavy brush, making access difficult.  Current thinking is that the clean up would be scheduled for late-fall or winter after the underbrush has died.
