Dear Rob,
Take the Fight to Richmond
We're Counting on You
Coming
Thursday
will be a big day for Virginians, and everyone's counting on you
being there. The buses are paid and there's
still room, so encourage friends to come even if they
can't share in the cost. RSVP for bus seats online.
What You Need to Know
Come Prepared Please pack a lunch if
you'll be riding the bus. Bring comfortable shoes and layered
clothes. Hand made signs are important --please try to
make one or two. Avoid sticks or poles for signs as the police
may need to relieve you of these. Study up. Print
out information on energy bills to support.
To
Catch the Warrenton Bus Please be at the Warrenton Park
and Ride Lot in time to board the bus at 11:15 am. Here
is a map. The bus will exit the Commuter Lot at 11:30 sharp,
so don't be late! The Commuter Lot is just east of Warrenton at
the northwest corner of US 29/211
& VA 605. Please pack a lunch for the ride down. Buses will
return after the public hearing is complete.
To Catch
the Haymarket Bus Please be at the Dominion Valley
Giant/Suntrust Shopping Center by 10:50 am and on the bus
by 11:00 am. The Dominion Valley Giant is at 5581 Merchants View
Square, Haymarket, VA 20169. Here
is a map. Please pack a lunch for the ride down. Buses will
return after the public hearing is complete.
Driving
Directions to the Rally The Rally is at 1000 Capitol
Street in downtown Richmond. Here is a Mapquest
map and here are driving
directions. If you're in your car and didn't print those,
don't despair! Just stay on 95 S and exit 74C onto E Broad
Street.
Parking Allow extra time for parking
and to walk to the Rally. Metered on street parking is hard to
find in downtown Richmond; here is a list
of garages.
Attend the Richmond Rally 1:30
pm The rally will be held at the Darden Garden (directly
outside of the General Assembly building 900 E. Broad Street,
Richmond, Virginia).
Spend the Afternoon Lobbying the
General Assembly Citizens can lobby too. After the rally,
talk with state senators and delegates. Ask them to support the
many important
energy and transmission related bills.
Attend the
Public Hearing at 6 pm Come to the General Assembly
Building (9th & Broad Streets), Senate Room A for the public
hearing on energy and transmission legislation, sponsored by
Senator Chuck Colgan and Delegate Joe May.
Thank you, and see you in Richmond!
